Started putting together thumbnails for some of the player actions. Thought I would use them to prototype the movement before I start doing animation cycles. Pretty happy with how these 2 turned out, but will probably lose some of that once the art is inked.

Bad Assery

While waiting for CS5 to redownload, I finally decided to try out a little slice of retro goodness. Exploding Rabbit on Newgrounds created this retro mashup that lets you play the original Super Mario Bros as other characters from the 8-bit era (Samus, Simon Belmont, Contra Guy, etc). You can clearly see it was a labor of love and turned out awesome. Now, if I could only get my xbox controller to work with the game, I might not die so much.

Check it out here.

Oh, CS5, you are a fickle beast indeed. Saved my money up this year in order to buy Adobe's Production premium pack. I had been using After Effects for the last couple of years and thought I would finally take the plunge. Well, a large hunk of money later, I'm fighting with corrupted download files. Ughhhh.

On the bright side, I should be satisfying my dorkiness by swinging by free comic book day and then seeing the new "Nightmare on Elm Street." I was pretty happy with the Jason reboot and have quickly become a fan of Jackie Earle Haley, so I'm excited to see what they pull off with this one.

Only 2 hours left on the download, here's keeping my fingers crossed.
